Chicago, IL, May 10, 2016: Last week, NEXT/NOW, an experiential marketing agency, received recognition from two different prestigious award groups for their innovative use of virtual reality in brand marketing: The IABC Gold Quill Award for Audio and Visual Experience, and, in partnership with agencies Manifesto and Evolve, an Event Marketer’s 2016 Ex Award for Best Mobile Marketing Tour. Following their recent BMA Tower Gold Award for their work with Morton Salt, this comes as a great honor to the independent group and represents a standard of excellence consistently recognized throughout the industry.

The IABC Gold Quill Awards, with over 40 years recognizing excellence in strategic communication, honored HMS and the marketing agency with a Division 1, Gold Quill of Merit for their work on the HMS “Join the HMS Integrity League” video game. The original virtual reality game, featured at healthcare conferences across the country, allowed conference attendees to strap on VR goggles and don the alter-ego of a city-protecting superhero flying around the city combating healthcare’s greatest nemeses: fraud, waste and abuse. IABC Gold Quill evaluators described it as “excellent, strategic work.”

Also this week, Event Marketer’s 2016 Ex Awards, described as the event industry’s “Golden Globes”, awarded Manifesto, Evolve and in part, NEXT/NOW, a win for Best Mobile Marketing Tour for their work with tech conglomerate Intel. The project, “InsideOut Traveling Tour: Intel Oculus 2065 Virtual Reality Experience”, enjoyed a global tour visiting over 20 different countries. Users donned Oculus Rift VR goggles and enjoyed an adventure in the future world of 2065. Navigating a space station, users encountered thrills including dropping floors, quick turns, and a vortex back to earth, all while learning about Intel’s advanced technology.
The winners were announced by founders of Event Marketer at a gala at the Experiential Marketing Summit at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver on May 4th.
