The Crown Fountain is an interactive video sculpture located in Chicago’s Millennium Park. The fountain is primarily composed of two 50-ft high glass brick towers, placed on the ends of a granite reflecting pool. Integration of LED lighting, water effects and LED video come together in an artistic and community-energizing presentation. Mr. Hughes created the control system design and interaction document, as well as coordinated the creation of control system with the various hardware elements. All of this works together to make the Crown Fountain one of Chicago’s ‘must-see’ attractions. Alan and his team saw the project through from initial construction to launch, working directly with the Spanish conceptual artist, Jaume Plensa.
